Summary:

How do you rid the Earth of seven billion humans? Rid the humans of their humanity

Surviving the first four waves was nearly impossible. Now Cassie Sullivan finds herself in a new world, a world in which the fundamental trust that binds us together is gone. As the 5th Wave rolls across the landscape, Cassie, Ben, and Ringer are forced to confront the Others’ ultimate goal: the extermination of the human race.

Cassie and her friends haven’t seen the depths to which the Others will sink, nor have the Others seen the heights to which humanity will rise, in the ultimate battle between life and death, hope and despair, love and hate.

The prequel, the fifth wave was absolutely mind blowing- it was thrilling, graphic and action packed. Much like the prequel The infinite sea also contained the same thrill and adrenaline however, it was turned down a notch making it a step down from the previous book. Now, I’m not bashing the book, believe me it was a good sequel but for some odd reason I didn’t achieve the same satisfaction from this book as I did from its predecessor.

In terms of progress, this book seemed to drag because of the fact that the characters weren’t travelling as much. This did constitute to less action and more dialogue between the characters. The serious but humorous discussion happening between the characters throughout this book added personality and depth to the characters.

My favorite character would have to be Ben, he seems so genuine and honest. I also like the fact that he can make light of any situation while taking control of everyone as well.

I cannot get over Rick Yancey’s writing. Sure, this is a sci-fi thriller but he adds that little poetic twist to it making it melancholic and flowing. There were a LOT of metaphor in The infinite Sea and I love metapors! much because of the fact that everyone interprets them differently and it’s interesting to discover everyones take on what the author is trying to imply.

The Infinite Sea travelled more deeply into the reason why the aliens are invading Earth, a question I hadn’t thought about much. I have a theory but I’m not sure whether anyone would be interested in reading it, let me know?

The ending left me a little confused, I mean are Teacup and Razor dead or what? And where is Ringer gonna go? so many questions! I guess I’ll just wait one more year until The End releases.

I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing.
I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts
out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the
first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or
    tips? Kudos!

I mostly just made a WordPress account, chose a free theme I liked and started created content. That’s basically all you need to start a blog really. Trust me I’m not good with computers and stuff either however, if you’re really passionate about something, the rest comes easy. Good luck 🙂
