5 TV Shows To Help You Procrastinate

So it has been a hot minute since anyone posted anything on here!

I blame life and uni

But since now I have tons of time I thought I would share some TV shows I’ve been catching up on to help pass the lonely hours without studying

Dear White People

So season 2 dropped like a month ago and this show is literally everything you need in your life! All I can say is that this season was a lot more proactive than the first one and the series as a whole deliberates on some very important and relevant issues

13 Reasons Why

I am sure you have all heard of this one but again season 2 has been out for a bit now and it’s time you get on it. My favourite season is still season 1 but this one was done brilliantly in the way that again it starts conversations

The Handmaid’s Tale

Okay so apparently everyone is coming out with a second season because guess what? season 2 is currently airing! This season is way more intense and confronting and I love the direction it is taking. I reviewed the first two episodes and might do a little mid season review if you guys would like that

The Sinner

So I’ve just started watching this one and heard some buzz here and there. It seems interesting so far and its only one season long with 8 episodes so can’t hurt hey?

Engrenages or Spiral

If you’re looking for a healthy series with about 6 seasons this one is it. It’s in French and focuses on the judicial system and crime. It’s like law and order but way more gory

Let me know if you have any show recommendations!

TV Shows You Need To Start Right Now

The holidays is prime time to dig into much needed television which you wouldn’t normally have time for. So if you’re stuck on what to start next, I’ve got you covered

Jane The Virgin

Nor the type of show I would typically gravitate towards but if you loved Gilmore Girls you’ll absolutely adore this. I’ts filled with romance, comedy and a ton of life lessons. While the show does focus heavily on family, it’s spiced up through murders and bizarre happenings

The Good Doctor

While medical dramas typically aren’t my thing, the hype around this show definitely made me check it out. I do not regret it one bit! What makes this show different is that the protagonist has autism which really opens up a dialogue about a part of society that has been in the shadows for a long time

Bates Motel

After watching the good doctor i fell in love with Freddie Highmore’s acting so I had to check out the other big show he’s performed in. This time he acts as the infamous serial killer Norman Bates. The series is dark, twisted and will feed your obssession of serial killers

Tess of D’urbevilles

This one is a little bit different in that it’s a BBC mini series. I haven’t gotten around to watching it but I’ve heard it’s one of the better adaptations of the novel

Top 5 Wednesday | Books That Need To Be TV Shows!

o-INFINITY-facebook

Yay top 5 Wednesday is back at Infinity Reads and this week we have a hella exciting topic.

We see books being adapted to movies all the times but for some books movies just aren’t the ideal way, which is why we have TV shows!

So what top 5 books on my shelf would make good TV shows? let’s find out

The DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) by Kody Keplinger

Ooo I know, already starting on a controversial one since it’s already a movie and everything. I did review the movie here and I did like it but I believe as a TV show the characters would have more time to develop and we can potentially see the escapism stuff that goes down in the books.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

I can imagine it! fast cars and boys and Welsh history lesson ugh yes please! A TV show of Raven Boys means we can explore one place for the WHOLE episode or it can fluctuate between what the characters are doing. It just feels like one of those books that is suited for a TV show like I can’t picture it as a movie.

Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare

Okay guilty confession I just put this one in here because it’s already becoming a TV show! I mean it had great potential as a movie if the casting was good and people didn’t have dreadlocks but since there are so many books in the series I think it has enough material to make into some solid seasons.

Dominic Sherwood as Jace. My body is ready!

Half Bad by Sally Green

I’m currently reading the sequel and like the prequel there is a lot of travelling throughout this book and I’m thinking TV-wise, they can end the episode in one place then begin in another. It’s again one of those books that I can’t picture as a film but rather a TV show. (mainly so it can drag on forever)

And the most controversial of all……

Throne of Glass by Sarah.J.Maas

I KNOW!

I mean I can see it as being a fantabulous movie too but as a TV show it can be like the next Game of Thrones. Imagine getting to see Calaena’s sassy-ness every week instead of just once on the big screen. Plus each episode would have a new adventure to offer!

Those are the top 5 books I can picture as making great TV shows. Let me know how you feel about TV show adaptations. What do you think of the new Mortal Instruments show?
