‘Would You Rather’ Book Tag

I saw this tag on Addicted to YA and went ahead and tagged myself so now I’m doing this tag. Yeah

Would you  rather… Drop your favourite book into the toilet OR watch it fall into a wood chipper?

I’m gonna have to go toilet so I can quickly dive in and save it then use my hair dryer to salvage it. But putting it through the wood chipper sounds like medieval torture

Would you rather… read only 1 book a year but remember everything OR read 100 books a year but remember nothing?

One book a year because the thought of not remembering as in not having any memory scares the shivers out of me.

Would you rather… Read only the first page of a book OR read only the last page of a book?

Strategically I’m gonna have to go last page because last pages rarely make sense which means it won’t matter. But if I were to read the first page I might end up getting invested in the book and then there would be trouble..

Would you rather get locked in a library OR get locked in a bookstore?

BOOKSTORE! because bookstores have new and shiny books and oh I could read all the new titles!

Would you rather… Drop your book in a lake OR accidentally set it on fire?

I”m gonna go lake because it’ll probably sit at the bottom of the lake and deteriorate or someone might find it who knows! but if i set it on fire that means it’s completely destroyed so nope nope

Would you rather… Read a book with a cliffhanger ending OR read a book with a heartbreaking ending?

I much prefer cliffhanger endings because often the reader is then left to interpret the ending while with a heartbreak ending you’re gonna be an emotional wreck for months (been there, done that)

Would you rather… Have the book’s ending spoiled OR never know what happens

Have it spoiled because I’m a curious cat like that

Would you rather… read only one genre forever OR never repeat the same genre after reading it once?

Never repeat the same genre after reading it once because I’m a big fan of variety and reading the same genre will just bore me to death with all the repetition.

Would you rather… Read a book where the main character is killed off OR read a book where the love interest is killed off?

This is a hard one!

Come to think of it I have read a book where the main character got killed off and the love interest was left alive. I’d rather have the main character alive because without them there is no story. So yeah kill the love interest.

Would you rather… Read a book that’s missing the middle chapter OR read a book that’s missing the first and last chapters?

Middle because first and last chapters make a book while the middle just develops the story.

Would you rather… love a book everyone hates OR hate a book everyone loves

I’d rather love a book everyone hates because I like playing Devil’s Advocate like that

Would you rather… loan a book to a friend who’s known to ruin books OR drop a book in a pit of snakes?

I would loan a book to a friend and make sure I make it perfectly clear that they can’t ruin it

Would you rather…. Be stuck on a deserted island without a book OR be stuck in a library full of books in a language you can’t read

A library full of books in a language I cannot read sounds better than being alone and bored on a deserted island. Overtime, I might just be able to decipher the language a little bit

Would you rather… Bring only 1 book on a 12 hour flight OR bring an e-reader with only 10% left on a 4 hour flight?

One book on a 12 hour flight sounds perfect actually!

Would you rather… Find out your best friend hates your favourite book OR share a favourite book with your worst enemy?

I’d rather my best friend hates my favourite book

Those were all the questions. They were pretty interesting to do and you should give it a try too!

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award!

Omg I’m finally part of the cool club who’ve been nominated for this award. Massive thanks to lovely Livvy at BookComet. I found her questions quite amusing and I hope you will too so let’s get answering!

Nomination Rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their website.
2. Put the award logo on your blog.
3. Answer the ten questions they’ve sent you.
4. Nominate 10 other bloggers to answer 10 questions that you pose to them

1.What’s your all-time favourite movie? The recent adaption of Les Mis?

I don’t do favourites but I could literally watch High School Musical every single night and not get bored so. Oh and shameful confession: I haven’t watched Les Mes (sorry Livvy!)

2. Do you classics? If so, what’s your favourite? It’s Les Mis isn’t it?

I do do classics! my go to would be Pride & Prejudice (I know so original) but MY.DARCY NUF SAID

3.Would you rather read a book set in Paris or Rome? Paris, you know where Les Mis was set.

I’ve read books set in both Paris and Rome so for round two I guess I’d go Paris again cuz who doesn’t like Towers and Cheese and Revolutions.

4.Do you listen to music while you blog? You listen to Les Mis like me, don’t you?

I am highly Anti Multi-tasking so the only thing I do while blogging is well..blogging. I know boring, judge me.

5.Do you have a favourite reading spot? Is it near your well-read copy of Les Mis?

My bed 🙂 we’ve had some good times. Okay that’s weird let’s move on

6.If you could choose to just know any other language in the world (other than what you already speak), what would it be? French? So you could read the original Les Mis not the translated one?

Funnily enough I already know French so I guess I’d like to learn to speak Arabic cuz people sound so cool when they speak it and I wanna sound cool too

7.What do you think is the most important thing in a book? Hope? Dreams? Love? Funnily enough, all three feature in Les Mis?

The most important thing in a book is its ability to connect with its readers whether that’s through the characters, the themes or the writing, as long as it leaves a mark then its done its job.

8.Do you have a special go-to book when you are sick, sad, upset, etc.? If you’re interested, mine is Les Mis.

I don’t have a special book, I just continue what I’m reading and hope it’s a god enough distraction.

9.Are you a quote person? I am. I have quotes from Les Mis on my wall.

YES I am! I love love love quotes. Here are some of my favourites just off the top of my head:

We accept the love we think we deserve- Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Fault, Dear Brutus is not in our stars but in ourselves that we are Underlings- Shakespeare

The world is full of assholes, what are you doing to make sure you’re not one of them?- Everybody sees the ants

10. Have you read Les Miserables? If not, WHY NOT?

No I haven’t. I’ve always been intimidated by the size of it but I promise I will get to it this year 🙂

I Tag the following people to answer my questions:

1.What two book characters would you name your children after?

2. If you could swap lives with any book character who would it be and why?

3. Show us some cool book swag/merch that you own

8. What is your absolute favourite song ever?

9. Which two book characters do you ship the most?

10. What are you currently reading?

12 Days of Books Tag

In the spirit of the holidays and the fact that I’m doing Blogmas I decided it’s due time for a tag. I’ve been posting everyday so far and will continue to do so and I hope you enjoy the wave of content coming your way!

This tag was created by Falling down the book hole so thank you and you guys should definitely check them out!

On the first day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree  : The Partridge Stood Alone In The Pear Tree? What is Your Favorite Stand Alone?

Oh God. This is harder than I realized. I’m already in a mental struggle. Okay, it’s a tie between Perks of Being a Wallflower, To Kill a Mockingbird and The Book Thief. Depends on my mood I guess, whether I’m feeling historic or classicy. See, I’m not the sort of person that has one determined favorite so this question was tough.

Although my favorite from this year in particular would have to be We Were Liars. A tragic story with a twist about privilege and deeper struggles. Check it out. No regrets.

On the second day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Two Turtle Doves : Love Is In The Air, Who Is You OTP?

My OTP without a doubt would have to be Eleanor and Park. The emotions between those two are so strong and oh the feels! It’s just so beautiful, their relationship.

On the third day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Three French Hens :  In The Spirit Of Threes, What Is The Best Trilogy Your Have Read?

The Anna and the French Kiss companion novels. I’m not one for contemporary or romance but this series had me so invested which is pretty impressive. The last book Isla and the Happily ever after released this year and it was an epic conclusion.

On the fourth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Four Calling Birds : Since Series Usually Consist of Four or More Books What Is Your Favorite Series?

This did not even take me a second to decide. Percy Jackson and the Heroes of Olympus is my favorite series ever. It’s adventure meets adolescence struggle plus Rick Riordan, the author’s sarcastic humor has me in fits every time so, can’t go wrong with that.

On the fifth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Five Golden Rings : One Ring To Rule Them All! Who is Your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?

It would  have to be Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones. Just because I feel like she brings a different perspective to the game and she is who she is partly because of the circumstance she is in. So I feel like I can connect with her in a twisted way so yeah.

On the sixth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Six Geese a Laying : Creation Is A Beautiful Thing! What is Your Favorite World/World-Building?

I highly enjoy the world building in The Lunar Chronicles because it’s Dystopian and robotic and there is all this cool technology and space travel oh.

But my favorite world would have to be The Game of Thrones. It is a pretty tragic place I know but I just love historic places and adding a magical element to it just makes it even better!

On the seventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Seven Swans a Swimming: Who Needs Seven Swans When All It Takes Is One Good Animal Sidekick To Make A Hero Rock! Who Is Your Favorite Animal Sidekick?

I don’t think I’ve read many books with animal sidekicks or animals at all. I would have to choose Iko who is a robot from again the Lunar Chronicles. She is super adorable and the most hilarious ultimate fangirl.

On the eighth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eight Maids a Milking: Milk Is So 18th Century! Which Book or Series Takes Beverages/Food To A Whole New Level?

Now that I think about it I also don’t read many books with food in it. Which is odd for such a massive foodie like myself. The only series I can think of is Game of Thrones. Classic medieval food. Boar and wild birds and pies with live pigeons in them, just so extravagant.

On the ninth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Nine Ladies Dancing : Dancing is Just One Skill of a Lady! Who is Your Favorite Kickass Female Lead?

Oh man this is so insanely difficult. Strong female protagonists are a thing in YA right now so they’re literally in every second novel I read. I’ll list my top five in no particular order:

Arya Stark- Game of Thrones. Sneaky sword master that one

Cinder- The Lunar Chronicles, she would make such a good leader

Sydney Sage- Bloodlines series, Intelligent and logical Sydney is smart and efficient and knows how to kick some ass

Ringer- The fifth wave series, hardened by pain and suffering I am rooting for Ringer all the way

On the tenth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Ten Lords a Leaping: Leaping Lords? How About Who Is Your Favorite Leading Lad?

My Leading Lad is Richard Gansey from the Raven Cycle series. He is classy, intelligent, rich and knows how to get things done. Actually now that I think about it I love all the Raven Boys except for Adam who doesn’t faze me too much. But Ronan and Gansey are totally kick ass

On the eleventh day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Eleven Pipers Piping: Where Would We Be Without Music? What Is Your Favorite Book or Bookish Thing That Deals With Music? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)

We would be in the black hole without music to be honest. I love the incorporation of music into Eleanor and Park. It’s an element that brings those two together and strengthens their relationship which is so freakingly adorable.

I absolutely love If I stay, the book and the movie. If you don’t know it is ALL about music. Classical, rock you name it. Music also empowers the protagonist Mia and in the end heals her. So it’s great

On the twelfth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
12 Drummers Drumming: Drum Roll Please…………………….What Is Your Favorite Read of This Year?

Wow that is the hardest question ever. As mentioned before I don’t do one favorite so I’m gonna have to make like a 50 page long list. Jokes. But you get the idea. To name a few though would be We Were Liars, Half Bad and Isla and the Happily ever after.

That is it for the 12 days of books tag! I hope you enjoyed reading through my answers and thanks to Falling down the book hole for such awesome questions! I encourage you to do this tag and leave a link in the comments so I can have a read of your answers

Until tomorrow. Have a nice life 🙂

Game of Thrones TAG

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about anything related to Game Of Thrones and I miss it. After scouring the deepest darkest corners of the internet I’ve found some questions I’d like to answer.

1. How did you discover the series/books?

There’s a story behind this, so get ready for story time! One summer I was bored and wished to start watching a new tv series so I began watchiing Game Of Thrones. 3 minutes into the show and I was extremely confused so I decided to read the books hoping the show would make more sense. So, I bought the books impulsively. Here’s the thing the best books I buy are the ones I buy on impulse, it’s like I don’t choose the book, the book chooses me.

2. What is your favorite house apart from Stark or Lannister?

Here’s a picture of my phone case.

Do i even need to elaborate?. The Stark or Lannisters aren’t even my favorite houses, Targaryens FTW!

3. Who is your favorite character from house Stark/Lannister?

This is a no brainer. Arya from house stark that little face changing wolf and Tyrion of the house Lannister that little cunning genius.

4. Who is your favorite character?

This is an extremely tough question. I’d have to say Cersei. Let me explain. Out of all the characters I find her POVs in the book the most interesting just because she’s portrayed as this bitch by other characters, I highly enjoy reading what she has to say for herself. And to be honest it would be gut wrenching if she died, but sooner or later it’s bound to happen knowing GRRM.

5.Who is your least favorite character?

I’d have to say Sansa. I can feel everybody judging me already. But seriously she just comes off as dumb and I know some people think she’s the biggest game player but honestly she just seems to follow Littlefinger and It’s hard to explain but I just get  really bored with her.

6. What are your thought about the series/ books?

I’ve reviewed all of A Song of Ice and Fire books on my blog so feel free to check those out to find out my thoughts on the books. About the series, I feel like they’re moving at a much faster pace and I just hope Winds of Winter doesn’t get spoiled for me because of the show. Although the show isn’t as detailed as the books all the events are executed so powerfully, it really is the best.

7. If you could be one of the characters who would you be and why?

All of the cool characters are dead or in danger of dying so I’m not sure if I’d want to be in their position. But if I have to choose I’d go with Bran just because he can do the cool Green seeing and what not.

8. What is your favorite episode/season?

My two favorite episodes are hands down

#1. Blackwater- the cinematography in that episode gave me goosebumps and the wildfire was so much better than I imagined it to be and oh it was perfect.

#2- The Red Wedding, I love how having read the books the show still manages to surprise me. The wedding was the most horrifyingly amazing thing I have ever witnessed. And can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful Rains of Castemere sounds?

9. What are you most looking forward to in the upcoming season/books?

I can literally write a whole blog post about this but here’s a little summary version:

Season 5- I wanna see amazingly animated dragons, lots of game playing and fight scenes featuring the Sand Snakes, I wanna see freakin Aegon Targaryen (they better not cut that part out)

Winds of Winter- I wanna see Dany kick butt again, lots of battles and blood, possibly white walkers or freaky zombie stuff judging by the title.

That concludes the tag. I hope you enjoyed reading my thoughts and feel free to do the tag yourself and send me a link if you do!
