Photo Diary | Underneath Paris

Guys I just realised this will be my last photo diary from France so hope you enjoy!

Upon my request we went to the Catacombs which was the coolest experience ever.

It also made us reflect on life and death and interpreting ancient French quotes surrounded by skulls underneath the world’s most beautiful city was fun too

We continued onto the Pompidou Centre which is a modern art museum. It was cool but I like the Louvre better

I’ve shown you all the pictures I can from France. I hope you enjoyed these posts and I hope they made you want to go to Paris

Photo Diary | Paris

Here comes the part my whole life led up to. Paris. I’ve dreamed of that city ever since I was seven and I barely even knew what bonjour meant

Fun fact: The Eiffel Tower is actually so HUGE. The photos do not do justice
Casual selfies under the tower

Cleopatra’s needle

We also went to Versailles. For those who don’t know this was basically the summer lodge of the King during the monarchy

The chateau is absolutely magnificent. It reeks of royalty

The Hall of Mirrors was so so beautiful oh!

These were the King and Queen’s bedroom

We didn’t get to spend much time in the gardens but they were vast and gorgeous

We took a boat ride around Paris in as you can see glorious weather

See you in the next post!

Book Review | Anna and the French Kiss

Title: Anna and the French Kiss

Author: Stephanie Perkins

Genre: Contemporary

Synopsis

Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris–until she meets Étienne St. Clair. Smart, charming, beautiful, Étienne has it all…including a serious girlfriend.

But in the City of Light, wishes have a way of coming true. Will a year of romantic near-misses end with their long-awaited French kiss?

This was a re-read for me. This is the kind of book that you could read over and over, memorize all the lines and events and everything and never get sick of the cuteness!

I cannot find a fault in this book okay dispute me.

Anna’s character development always gets me, how she goes from this reserved almost non-risk-taker to this confident  kick-ass protagonist that is sure of what she wants. Although the revelation she has about her character is a bit rushed I still like how she actually ends up being better you know.

Etienne, the love interest, oh sweet lord. Okay so at the start he’s misleading and a cheater but he comes around, we have to give him that. He realises his mistakes and takes steps to set things right

The book is obviously very romantic because Paris! It is also realistic as it explores friendships and a high school environment (although a little stereotypical)

You also get a virtual tour of Paris reading this so kudos for that!

Bookish Places I want to visit in France

Bonjour from France!

I currently come to you from the North-West of France and am about to hit up Paris so here’s a list of places mentioned in books and such that I cannot WAIT to visit

Point Zero

I first came across this in Anna and the French Kiss. It’s basically the start of everything in Paris and I can’t wait to stand on it and make a wish.

Shakespeare & Company

I mean if that isn’t every book lover’s dream! it’s covered HEAD TO TOE in books and all these famous people have gone in there and written and ahhh

Cimetiere du pere Lachaise

This also appears in Anna and the French Kiss in a very inappropriate context. But it has lots of famous artists’ grave such as Oscar Wilde!

Notre Dame

Hunchback of Notre Dame anyone? but seriously I’m very excited to see the colourful windows and hopefully we can climb to the very top!

Latin Quarter

This, particularly La Sarbonne the university makes a cameo in Anna and the French Kiss. It seems like a very hip place so can’t wait

The Seine

Night time Paris strolling anyone? ah if only I wasn’t forever alone. Oh well, ain’t nobody needs a man to have fun in Paris!

Saint Etienne Du Mont

I want to go here purely because Etienne St.Clair was named after this saint

As you can tell, I basically want to retrace Anna and the French Kiss, but hopefully I end up going to ALL of these places and the next time you see pictures of all these places I’ll be in them!

Announcement| I’m going to France!

Hello everybody!

Just a quick post to let you guys know that I’m going to France

Tomorrow

I know, I know, late notice much?

But seriously, I hope that explains the absence of posts because double schoolwork and packing equates to stress and hypertension.

I’m basically going on a school trip to France for three weeks. Two weeks shall be spent in Brittany and one week shall be spent exploring Paris.

I’ve been working really hard on scheduling posts while I’m away so I hope that all goes well and you guys enjoy them!

I cannot wait to return and do a bunch of travel posts including photos ahh!

If you have any specific post requests in reference to France or Paris feel free to leave them in the comments!

In the meantime, I apologise to all the publishers for late reviews of books and I apologise for not replying to any comments. I hope that is understandable.
