First Impressions | Game of Thrones Season 7 Promo

It is that time of the year again folks.

With Season 7 bound to start on July 16, Game of Thrones’ producers have started dropping hints like no tomorrow.

But of course they always leave us viewers hanging

So the promo shows us our three big players in the game

There is Cersei at King’s Landing. The fact that she’s all alone in the throne room says exactly that. She’s alone, she’s lost her last child and she is completely in control of the Iron Throne. This leaves her very lethal and should be interesting to say the least

We have Daenerys at Dragonstone preparing to hopefully invade King’s Landing. We don’t see much of Dany in the promo but we know what direction she’s heading

Then there is Jon at Winterfell.

The King of the Whitewalkers at the end establishes another big player in the game. This time Cersei, Dany and Jon not only have to worry about each other, they have the bigger threat of the Whitewalker.

While these players are going to be end game, I feel like their fate is going to be defined by what the other characters do.

Such as Tyrion as Hand of the Queen, how will he influence Dany’s decisions?

What role is Jaime going to play in Cersei’s fate?

What about Sansa and Littlefinger? could Littlefinger potentially get to her and change Jon’s fate?

There are so many questions that I’m buzzing with and the show is pretty much very unpredictable at this point.

What are some of your theories?

8 Game of Thrones Season 7 Predictions that MUST happen

I guess we’re all still recovering from the epic finale which I recapped here but I don’t know about you but my brain is already running on overdrive about what is going to happen next season. With only 13 episodes left until the show wraps up for good I believe season 7 will be one hell of an action packed adventure.

Jon Snow

As was so obviously revealed in the season finale, Jon is the son of Lyanna Stark and let’s be honest, the father must be Rhaegar Targaryen. This means that Jon is a Tagaryen and thus has a rightful claim to the Iron Throne!

I’ve seen a few theories floating around the internet that Jon’s name isn’t Jon but rather he has a Targaryen name. Hmm could it be Aegon? Aerys? who knows.

Cersei Lannister

So far no one has managed to stay on the Iron Throne long without getting killed so we can only assume Cersei is destined for doom especially because of all the hatred surrounding her. As for Cersei’s death, I have two predictions:

Dany and Cersei have a showdown where Dany either kills Cersei herself or one of the Dragons does.

Or Arya makes her way to King’s Landing, since Cersei is on her list of people to kill and Arya kill Cersei which would be a pretty sweet revenge for the Stark’s!

Nonetheless, Cersei is cornered, the Ships are coming with Dany and the dragons, considering Varys went to see the women in Dorne along with house Tyrell, I believe Dany and Dorne and house Tyrell will ally to take Cersei down and everyone in Winterfell hates Cersei too.

We are in for one epic battle!

Bran and the Wildlings

I’m guessing Bran is making his way back to Winterfell because I can’t see him going back anywhere else.

As for the Wildlings I think they will be left to dealt with for season 8 because I can see an epic Wildling battle happening which will just be too hectic and we need Dany’s dragons to burn the shit out of the Widlings and ahh!

Reaction | The Door

Bit late I know but no one ever did blogging and Year 12 and got out alive hah

This episode should’ve been titled “The Feels”

Let’s just take a moment to pay homage to the most beautiful character in the entire series…

hodor tv game of thrones hbo

This was by far the saddest and most heartbreaking death since Hodor is as pure as you get in Westeros really.

It’s mind boggling to think that GRRM had Hodor’s whole life planned out like his life purpose was to HOLD THE DOOR

But alas, all good things must come to an end.

Hopefully Bran and Meera make it out alive from that wasteland and find friendly faces.

The fact that The Children of the Forest created the White Walkers just seems like Karma to me to be honest, but the damage is done I guess.

It’s gonna be really interesting to see Sansa build an army to take back the North, cue motivational speeches and of course awkward high school romances..

The part with Dany and Ser Jorah was super sad as well, I couldn’t help noticing what a good actress Emilia is!

The situation with Arya has me thoughtful, I mean she will come back to Westeros but HOW and WHEN?

I love how for basically the entire season we have ignored Dorne like what is going on there?

Reaction | Book of The Stranger

So after last week’s smashing Oathbreaker episode, this was to be honest a real let down.

I mean most of the time I was sitting there thinking “what is even happening?”

like a lot of plans were being put into place, a lot of theories being discussed but when it came to the action part of the show, it was lacking, and isn’t that the most fun?

why did no one die in this episode like come on we’re almost halfway there

But the things I did enjoy include:

Sansa meeting Jon!

I had a feeling timing would be a bitch and just as Jon left Castle Black, Sansa would arrive but nope. I really like how Sansa is evolving into this strong character and if all goes well, Jon and Sansa will take back Winterfell!

The Osha-Ramsay scene was pretty tense to be honest, I mean I didn’t expect Osha to be killed so brutally but what can you expect from Ramsay?

But I believe Ramsay will be killed by someone much more important. Ideally Sansa, Ideally at the end of this season.

Of course the end was highly enjoyable, I love how Dany just sticks it to everyone, all the time but I can’t help thinking, is it really that easy to kill a Khal and his most powerful men?

Reaction | Home

Game of Thrones is slowly going to become the show that is renowned for ending their episodes on cliff hangers.

So the Jon Snow resurrection.

I mean a large part of me always knew Melisandre would do her fire magic and bring him back but I had my doubts. I definitely did not expect the resurrection to happen so early in the season though. I guess it just means the rest of the season will unfold very interestingly.

Given that Sansa, Brienne and Podrick are heading for Castle Black, I believe Sansa and Jon will team up and hopefully win Winterfell back!

Theon will also be heading to the Iron Islands where I believe the election for a new ruler will take place, I think I remember reading that in A Feast for Crows? Hopefully, Yarra/Asha Greyjoy reins supreme.

I think this episode did a very good job of putting all the characters on set paths for the season.

Of course another big WTF moment was the death of Lord Bolton. I mean I expected it to be honest, Ramsay would never hug someone without stabbing them come on. I was mostly traumatised by him setting the dogs on Lady Walda and the child, I mean that man settles at nothing.

We’re starting to see the tension build between the High Sparrow and the Lannisters, and we also get a peak at the Mountain’s strength in this episode so that will span out interestingly.

The interaction between Tyrion and the Dragons added a bit of sarcasm and a lighter tone to all the heavier things going on in the episode. Yeah, I didn’t beleive for a second the dragons would kill him but it’ll be interesting to see what they do now that they’re unchained.

Let’s talk about Bran’s visions. I’m glad the story has finally traveled that far North. The only purpose I can imagine for the show writers to show the viewers that vision of Winterfell back in the days is:

-The episode was about home and finding your way back sort of so it set the scene by showing what Winterfell looked like in the happier days, and what a sense of belonging looks like I guess,

-To provide foreshadowing for when Benjen Stark appears later in the show or if they do decide to go with the Lyanna Rhaegar theory.

-To give a backstory for Hodor, I mean something has obviously happened between him being that little boy to now and it might play a crucial role in the show?

I realise this post was very rambly and prediction filled but that’s literally my reaction to this week’s episode. Let’s take it to the comments sections from here!

Reaction | The Red Woman

It’s that time of the year again. Oh yeah, the articles are streaming out, the predictions are at an all time high and I”m here to add my voice to it.

Obviously this post contains spoilers about the Season 6 Premiere of Game of Thrones so don’t read it if you don’t wanna spoil it for yourself blah blah.

The opening scene of the Season well and truly establishes that yes, Jon Snow IS dead.

We lose all hope of a recovery when even melisandre seems at a loss but the fact that the body is still there, even if it there to give rise to the anger that will finally bring down Thorne, the fact that the body is there gives me a teensy bit of hope.

Moving Norther, Podrick and Brienne killed it! I can’t wait to see what the Squad gets up to this season starting by kicking some Bolton ass.

This episode was mainly centered on setting the scene as is the case with most season premieres of Game of Thrones.

My predictions made in this post about Dany having to live her days out in Vaes Dothrak are true however, as probability has it, Ser Jorah and Daario will probably fix that pickle up. I quite enjoyed the friend-zone talk Daario and Jorah had to be honest.

I feel like Arya will learn how to fight blindly and that will be her redemption later in the season.

The Dorne Situation was probably the most stupidest thing. Prince Doran’s death did come as a surprise but then again what do you expect from those women?

I was hoping Trystane would be smart enough NOT TO TURN HIS BACK ON HIS ENEMY. Like jeez you really expect these salty bitches to have any sense of honour?

Bits and bobs of the episode aside, let’s address the elephant in the room. Melisandre’s revealing, that was the most satisfying and shocking and Game of Thrones thing about the episode. I found a great article from EW explaining the whole process and theory behind it and all I’m gonna say at this point is that, it’s kind of expected but I’m interested to see where it goes from here for her character.

While the season premiere was no Oscar-winning movie, it set the scene quite successfully for the action, drama and suspense that is to follow in the season. There are definitely better things ahead. By that I mean more people dying.

Game of Thrones Season 6 Trailer | Burning Questions

Guess who’s a month late to the party?

Any who, April usually is a very Game of Thrones loaded month here on Infinity Reads and what better way to start than by discussing the trailer and attempting to answer your burning questions? (by that I mean creating more questions that I want answered)

Is Jon Snow gone for good?

I have two takes on this

#1 the optimistic take: I mean he’s dead but he’s actually a Targaryen so the dragon inside him will come alive if and when Melisandre performs her fire magic and resurrects him and he becomes king of Westeros and marries Dany cuz we can’t give up on the incest trend can we?

In all seriousness, I feel like if Jon were to make a come back it won’t be until the very end of season 6

#2 the let’s be real take: We have to remember that the Rhaegar + Lyanna theory (look it up) has been primarily fan based, I mean neither Martin nor the producers of the show seem to say much in terms of that right?

so what if Jon isn’t as important as we’d like to believe he is (was)? what if he’s dead like the 50 other important characters that have been killed on the show? Maybe Dany or Sansa or Tyrion are the survivors and Westeros belongs to one of them?

What’s up with Daenerys?

We know that the widow of a Khal is to live out the rest of her days in Vaes Dothrak. So that’s obviously where Dany has seen to be taken in the trailer. I feel like there, she’ll be treated as the lowest of the lowest and she’s essentially a prisoner since she ran away.

Although Ser Jorah finds her ring in the desert (I mean probability right?) so he’s most likely going to rescue her, but first let’s hope he doesn’t die of the Grey disease first of course.

Is Cersei gonna make a comeback ?

Oh hell yes.

If it wasn’t obvious from the best scene of the trailer aka the moment Cersei goes “I choose violence”. The Mountain or more precisely the Frankenstein like concoction is going to kick the asses of the High Sparrow’s army. The reason I sound so excited is because Cersei went from being the most hated character to somewhat of an underdog and we all love to see the rise of the underdog don’t we?

I predict Sansa’s character growth is going to be HUGE in this season, we see in the trailer her and Theon jumping off the roof to escape from Ramsey, the only logical reason they could’ve survived the fall is probably the thick snowfall. I feel it’s highly likely that Theon, Sansa and Brienne will form somewhat of a trio and try to take revenge on Ramsey by forming alliances with Theon’s family or something.

Bran can walk??

No. Maybe. Well, I realise in the show they haven’t delved much yet into Bran’s ability to have visions, but basically Bran has visions about the past or the future and in the books you get the feeling that he’s almost physically present in that vision. The show of course for visual representation’s sake must’ve decided to portray Bran as being fully present in his visions and hey, it’s just a vision right so why can’t he walk? so he can walk , yes and no.

Tell us more!

What’s more to say about the trailers? Of course it can’t be Game of Thrones without someone getting naked aka Melisandre.

Other than that, I don’t want to comment on Arya’s story line since the books are ahead of where Arya is now in the show so I wouldn’t want to spoil anything.

If you have any more burning questions or are up for a good ol’ GoT discussion let’s take it t the comments!

Photo Diary | France

As you may or may not be aware, I travelled to France for three weeks with my school. Here is the story told in pictures…

Parisian Trees…

On the train to Redon, Brittany

The courtyard of the school we ‘studied’ in

The ancient buildings of the school seriously reminded me of Hogwarts

The school Chapel..

Roman Carvings all around the school corridors

There was Graffiti everywhere

The streets reminded me of Game of Thrones, particularly the area around the High Sept

They have the pretties buildings in France!

I hope you liked the first few photos from France, I’m really trying not to bombard you guys

Next Photo Diary I take you to a Mythical forest (Hint: Think Merlin and King Arthur)

Favourite Maps In Books

Since fantasy is one of my favourite genres I encounter quite a few maps while reading and boy are they fascinating, but to be honest I usually tend to skip over them because I’m more concerned with the contents of the book than admiring the artwork which usually doesn’t make any sense to me.

But here are a few maps that I believe deserve recognition

We Were Liars by E.Lockhart

It’s a very simplistic map which is great because I can’t read maps. I like it because the island and its specific locations have such a significance in the book and just looking at the maps gives me chills.

Throne of Glass by Sarah.J.Maas

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfus

I find this map to be very eccentric. The name of the places are so exotic and just there’s so much detailing ahh!

A Song of Ice & Fire by George.R.R.Martin

Of course I was gonna include this! Game of Thrones maps are the best! the detailing and just the care that is put into them. Unfortunately there are too many to choose from but this is quite simple to understand so I chose this

I hope you enjoyed this rather interesting post (at least it was interesting for me okay) Have a great weekend!

This was one great action-packed read of the year. The hype was definitely worth it guys

The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly

Can you believe I read two back to back amazing books? This book is unlike anything you will ever read in your life. Seriously. Get on it.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

This one wasn’t as great as the others but still an interesting book about friendship and love

What I Watched

This really shouldn’t be a surprise. The Game of Thrones season finale happened and you can read my entire reaction on it here

I really don’t have anything else to say. I was absent quite a bit this month on the blog because you know, exams. But hey here are some things to look forward to in July
