Cover To Cover | The Fifth Wave

In light of the film being released (my review over here) I decided it was a good time to analyse the different editions of the book available out there.

The English Edition

16101128

I believe it’s not the kind of cover that leaves an impression on you but it also isn’t unappealing either. I like the colour scheme and the lighting involved. The shadows definitely do a good job of creating mystery.

The Film Tie-In Edition

25194131

The first thing that pops into my head after seeing this cover is that it’s a typical dystopian adaptation cover. However, it is better than some other adaptation covers I’ve seen out there.

The Finnish Edition

18466694

This cover has a very science-fiction feel to it, obviously because the book is science fiction I’m guessing. I like the target on the girl but the big 5 seems to be bothering me a little. The colour scheme of the cover is good too.

The Croatian Edition

27229607

This cover looks cool! It reminds me of the Under The Never Sky series. I like the gradient, scenic effect and yeah it’s an overall pleasing cover.

The Chinese Edition

28265969

This gives me like destruction feels. It’s hardcore and almost brutal, what with the font and everything. Definitely a note worthy cover.

The Verdict

If I were in a bookstore I would most likely be picking up the English edition because it has a clean cut feeling to it however, the Croatian edition would be a close second?

Cover to Cover | Throne of Glass

Cover To Cover is basically an excuse for me to swoon over the many beautiful covers for the same book! At the end there’ll be a verdict as to which my favourite cover is. Check out the first ever Cover to Cover here

As is obvious from the title, today’s Cover to Cover is on Throne of Glass by Sarah.J.Maas, let me tell you this shall be an interesting one.

The USA Edition

The girl is pretty but I usually prefer to not have models on the cover since it ruins my interpretation of what the character looks like. There’s not much else to the cover besides the girl so yeah

The other USA Edition

See this one’s much better because it’s an animated character. She has a very badass look with the black clothing and all. I have a problem with the colours, they seem too dark and shady

The UK Edition

This is the one I own. I like the colour scheme of this one better because it has the whole cold hearted bitch look. No seriously, although there might be too much white hmm

The Dutch Edition

This gives me like Assassins Creed vibe, you know all those gaming DVDs (not that I’d know). It is interesting but I’ve been much into gaming DVDs so eh

The Italian Edition

This one doesn’t have much to it but I like the ice crystal border, it gives it a whole abstract look and the sword on the cover is also cool although the yellow makes it look awkward.

The Romanian Edition

This one is so cool! I mean the sword and the girl and the round thing ahh and the colour scheme is good too. I like

Which one would I most likely pick up in a bookstore though? I want to be boring and say I’d go for the UK edition which I already have. I don’t know, it’s a hard pick this one

Help me decide! which one is the best Throne of Glass Cover?

Cover To Cover | Paper Towns by John Green

Cover To Cover is basically an excuse for me to swoon over the many beautiful covers for the same book! At the end there’ll be a verdict as to which my favourite cover is. Check out the first Cover to Cover here

With all the buzz going on about the Paper Towns movie I decided to take a chance and look at all the various beautiful covers of this book out there. So let’s get started

The original English cover

It’s obviously a very symbolic cover in relation to the book and paper towns. The red pin is very catchy and I just like the look of the cover. Simple but effective

The American Cover?

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe this is the American version. I personally don’t like humans on covers because it changes the way I visualise my characters.

Another English cover

So apparently this cover exists. Again very symbolic of paper towns but it gives me too many middle-grade, comic book vibes.

The Spanish Cover

This one doesn’t strike me as much to be honest. The silhouette of the building could’ve been much sharper and yeah nothing specially intriguing about this cover

Another English cover

I love this cover. It’s very quirky and cartoon-esque. The font is very catchy and again, very simple but very appealing.

The German Cover

I’m really feeling the “mysterious disappearance” vibe from this cover. It is thrilling yet wouldn’t catch my eye at a bookstore.

The Dutch Cover

A very interesting take from he original cover. I feel like it’s more bleaker but it does work. I like it

The Greek Cover

This cover seems to take all aspects of the book and put it on the cover. There’s the map, the towns, the cars. I think it works well

The Verdict

I have an obvious favourite for this one and it is this English cover

I always find myself eyeing it at the bookstore and yeah, the colours, the font, the cutesy drawing of the car, it’s just so coherent. I loves it.

BONUS COVER

I didn’t want to put this in the competition because it wouldn’t be fair game. The movie cover of Paper Towns featuring the glorious faces of Cara Delevigne and Nat Wolff..

AH I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE MOVIE!
