5 Most Anticipated Book-to-Movie Adaptions of 2016

I’m sure by now you’ve all heard the buzz about all the great adaptations coming out this year, I just wanted to join my voice in and let you know which ones I’m particularly excited about!

The Fifth Wave

Okay well this one already came out January 14 in Australia. I watched it the first day and reviewed it here and eh, not too hyped about it guys. I was super excited to watch it though.

Set to be released on March 19. I saw the trailer and it seems like they’re kind of taking a different direction to the book but is the end game going to be the same? And are they splitting it into two parts? it doesn’t seem like it

Pride & Prejudice & Zombies

pride prejudice and zombies

I haven’t read the book but guys the trailer looks so good and let me know if I should read the book before? Also, I’m not entirely sure when it’s coming out

I read the book way back when it came out because I was obsessed with Dan Brown. I haven’t watched the trailer or anything but the concept of the book fascinated me. This should be interesting. Set to release on October 14!

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

I’m most excited about this one! IMDB says it’s set to release on Christmas Day this year and Tim Burton is directing it and the author, Ransom Riggs has been so involved with the movie process. I CAN’T WAIT!

Honourable mention to: Legend

The totally awesome dystopia series by Marie Lu? it seems like it’s still in the works but I’ll be keeping an eye out for this one.

Those are all the book to movie adaptations I’m excited to watch this year! let me know in the comments what you’re excited for !

Prince’s Gambit, the sequel to Captive Prince

Just one sad lonely bookshelf and millions of boxes full of books

If you had the choice to meet all of your favourite book bloggers or all of your favourite authors, which would you pick? you can only pick one.

I would pick all my favourite authors. My favourite bloggers would understand why I made that choice.

NO! it’s pretty unrealistic and just ugh I like seeing relationships develop gradually.

Too many but Jane Austen, John Green, Rick Riordan would be a few

Event Recap | Meeting SJ Maas

Saturday 23rd November 2015

Dear Reader,

Today was very eventful.

I woke up and packed my Throne of Glass series along with ACOTAR in my Shakespeare & Co. bag in the hopes that by the end of the day they would all be signed by my favourite author. I also tried to cram in exam revision without any success.

Walking 50 paces into Supanova I spotted a queue labelled ‘SARAH’. I honestly hadn’t expected such an overwhelming fan base. ¬†There were a few girls Cosplaying Caelena and it was so exciting to fan girl over meeting Sarah while waiting in line.

Given my short height I also continued to stand on tippy-toes to get a view of Sarah and squeaked to my mum about how pretty she was especially in person.

As luck would have it I arrived right at the head of the line before Sarah had to attend a panel. I stalked her to the panel as you naturally do.

The panel had discussions about Kick-Ass Characters and it was great to see some new authors talking about characters in their books, also Sarah is extremely funny mainly because of how honest she is.

When I finally managed to meet her after she gloriously finished eating her chocolate, I was shaking all over.

I soon fell into casual conversation. Sarah takes great interest in her reader’s lives and I love that. She asked me about where I’m from and school.

I also discovered she’s busy blurbing novels at the moment but also that she cannot wait to read C .S. ¬†Pacat’s Captive Prince series.

We also spent a good amount of time fangirling over The Lunar Chronicles and she asked me if my mum was my sister and my mum felt greatly complimented by that so THANKS SARAH!!

Epilogue: With my pile of signed books in my hands I walked out of the signing area and graciously stumbled and fell on the floor of Supanova along with all my books.

My clumsiness never evades me

Bookish Places I want to visit in France

Bonjour from France!

I currently come to you from the North-West of France and am about to hit up Paris so here’s a list of places mentioned in books and such that I cannot WAIT to visit

Point Zero

I first came across this in Anna and the French Kiss. It’s basically the start of everything in Paris and I can’t wait to stand on it and make a wish.

Shakespeare & Company

I mean if that isn’t every book lover’s dream! it’s covered HEAD TO TOE in books and all these famous people have gone in there and written and ahhh

Cimetiere du pere Lachaise

This also appears in Anna and the French Kiss in a very inappropriate context. But it has lots of famous artists’ grave such as Oscar Wilde!

Notre Dame

Hunchback of Notre Dame anyone? but seriously I’m very excited to see the colourful windows and hopefully we can climb to the very top!

Latin Quarter

This, particularly La Sarbonne the university makes a cameo in Anna and the French Kiss. It seems like a very hip place so can’t wait

The Seine

Night time Paris strolling anyone? ah if only I wasn’t forever alone. Oh well, ain’t nobody needs a man to have fun in Paris!

Saint Etienne Du Mont

I want to go here purely because Etienne St.Clair was named after this saint

As you can tell, I basically want to retrace Anna and the French Kiss, but hopefully I end up going to ALL of these places and the next time you see pictures of all these places I’ll be in them!

Cinderella Book Tag

cinderella book tag

I discovered this tag on Oh, the books and I just had to do it so let’s begin!

cinder one

The first person that comes to mind is Holden Caulfield from The Catcher in The Rye. I mean there are characters who irritate me at most but Holden just provokes a whole new level of annoyance. I just don’t find him relateable and he seems whiny which I can testify is NOT TRUE of all teenagers. I recently did a post a on 10 things I hate about the catcher in the Rye so tap for elaborative rant aha.

cinder two

I’m going to have to say Mr.Darcy from Pride & Prejudice. I feel like a lot of books I read don’t necessarily have gentlemen because YA and Bad boys is a match made in heaven. I’d have to argue though that Mr.Darcy isn’t really a gentleman to begin with but Lizzie changes that

cinder three

This is going to sound very cliche but Cinder from The Lunar Chronicles fits the description (maybe because the books are a fairytale retelling?) but seriously, I don’t know about grace what with Cinder in her mechanics overalls but she is kind and she is defiant.

cinder four

Feyre from A Court of Thorns & Roses. That girl always decides to get herself in trouble and surprise surprise literally every male character in the book is somehow there to protect her. I mean I wish I was half that lucky.

cinder five

Reading in general makes me happy, I don’t really care which book jsut any book does the job really. Oh and I’ve really been into adult colouring books, seriously so calming.

cinder six

I’m gonna have to say, Arya Stark from A Song of Ice & Fire, come to think of it literally every character in Game of Thrones goes through some sort of transformation. But seriously, Arya goes from princess to bandit and now to some Faceless assassin.

cinder seven

The Death Cure by James Dashner. The Maze Runner series didn’t faze me from the beginning so by the time I got to the last book I really didn’t see the point since I realised I wasn’t going to get any answers.

cinder eight

Definitely Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. Never in a million years could I have guessed that plot twist. I even dedicated a post to it and the controversy behind it here.

cinder nine

Divergent series by Veronica Roth. Tris is actually such an inspiring character and I’m not even kidding, every time I am about to do something that is daunting I tell myself to “Be Brave” or be Dauntless I guess haha

cinder ten

I cannot think of one book whose ending is perfect, I’m either unhappy with the ending or unhappy that the book has ended. But I guess All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven has a good ending in the sense that it gives you closure but I’m still heartbroken.

That was the Cinderella Book Tag from me! Now it’s your turn, if you feel like it tag yourself and answer the questions or just tell me in the comments!
