$100 Book Haul

Since I finally have time to read, I decided I’d go crazy and buy a few books! So here is, a $100 book haul

Gemina by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

First up, there is the sequel to Illuminae which was my absolute favourite book last year and I cannot wait ahh!

Magus Chase & the Hammer of Thor by Rick Riordan

Another sequel I have been dying to read. Rick Riordan is forver my favourite author and I cannot wait to dive into this world of beautiful Norse mythology

Holding up the Universe by Jennifer Niven

If any of you have read All the Bright Places know how amazing Jennifer Niven is and I cannot wait to read another book from her

I also got a couple non fiction books

Quiet by Susan Cain

I just find personality really interesting and I’m an introvert so I’m super excited to learn stuff about myself

Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur

I think these types of prose/poetry books are becoming a trend. I absolutely love Beau Taplin’s wiritng and this seems similar. Also Rupi’s Instagram is goals

That was my $100 book haul. Let me know if you’ve read any of these books. I’m posting every second day in November and every single day in December!

Book Haul | Shakespeare & Conpany

I couldn’t go to France and not visit Shakespeare & Company. It’s been a dream of mine ever since I read it in Anna and the French Kiss. No amount of time could’ve been enough for me to explore in there and take in the overwhelming mass of books literally floor to ceiling. But I’ll let the pictures do the rest of the talking

The doormat had quite a lot to say..

Upstairs was filled with writer’s cubby holes and I’m talking Hemmingway kinda writers

The Haul!

As a souvenir and also because I love Shakespeare I got Macbeth. I was trying to find a similar copy of Hamlet but no luck. The pages are gold bordered like so

We’d just been to Notre Dame and I wanted to learn more about it so

img_0727

I also got this cool notebook to put all my blogging ideas in. It’s got some famous writers associated with the store.

Every book comes stamped upon request

img_0732

Some bookmarks

These were the steps leading up to the writer’s cubby hole

I also got a post card because why not

Other books from France!

img_0735

Paris has many street bookstores selling second hand books which was like my dream come true. I soon discovered most of the books were in French and settled upon buying the French version of Lolita. I plan on buying the English version and hope to build on my French vocab. Let’s hope it’s not too dirty

img_0736

France also has amazing McDonald’s. Seriously guys, if you ever go to France, try their maccas. I, typically, bought a Happy Meal and received a French picture book. How cute is that! It’s Puss in Boots in French!

This was my experience at Shakespeare & Co. Hopefully it wasn’t my only one, I hope to return there one day and spend even more money. If you guys have any burning questions feel free to leave ’em in the comments!

July Book Haul

Since it is birthday month I decided to treat myself and I also received some surprise ARCs in the mail so that’s always pleasant!download

Snapchat--3980446583782745355Kudos to the Yellow flowers for providing such a pretty background!

From top to bottom

It by Stephen King– I’ve been meaning to get into Stephen King for ages so when someone said I HAD to read this I decided hey let’s give it a go. It sounds very spooky but it is quite chunky

Les Miserable Volumes 1 & 2 by Victor Hugo– Another book I’ve been meaning to read for AGES. I decided to buy it in two volumes so it would be easier to carry to school and also less daunting cuz my gosh we’ve got another hunky one.

Dumplin by Julie Murphy– Thank you so much to Penguin Teen Australia for sending me an ARC of this! It sounds hilarious and I cannot wait to dig into it closer to the release date

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han– Everyone seems to be raving about this series all the time so I bought it to see what the hype was all about. I’ve only previously read The Summer I Turned Pretty and didn’t enjoy it so this shall be interesting

Sweet Damage by Rebecca James– Thanks to Allen & Unwin for this one! I recently reviewed it here and found it to be quite an agreeable  read

Go Set A Watchman by Harper Lee– Saved the best ’til the last! I barged into the bookstore on release day and despite the hefty price bought it because To Kill A Mockingbird is an all time favourite of mine.

March Book Haul

20150310_171159

I have acquired some pretties over the past couple of weeks so I decided to show ’em off to you!

20150310_170900

Excuse the bookmark but yeah new books ahh!

20150310_171843

Assassins Blade by Sarah.J.Maas

Little Women by Louisa May Ascott

I recently finished Heir of Fire and loved it so it’s a no-brainer that I got the novella collection.

Ever since the Youtube web series of Little Women started I’ve wanted to read the book so I finally got it and it may well be the longest classic I’m going to read but can’t wait!

20150310_171803

Afterworlds by Scott Westerfield

The Handmaid’s tale by Margaret Atwood

I have wanted to read Afterworlds since the beginning of time, well since it came out anyway so I decided right about bloody time I at least bought the book.

The Handmaid’s Tale has been catching my eye cuz two words “feminist literature”, the cover is freaky because of what the book symbolizes (fertility) but i like freaky!

And last but not least in all its glory we have…..

20150310_171916

The 10th Anniversary version of Looking for Alaska!!!!!!!!

The pages are black edged and there is a heap of never before seen content at the back and just gah I love John Green

That was my little book haul for March so far!

What new books have ye acquired?
